Veronica Brutosky
Sister Veronica Brutosky, C.S.J. earned her BFA in art at Otis Art Institute, Los Angeles and her Masters in Art at California State University at Fresno. Sister had taught school for 55 years, 33 in Catholic Schools and 22 at Fresno City College. She is now retired from teaching as of May 2006 and works part time in the art and is training to work part time in Diocesan Prison Ministry.
Collectors of Sister Veronica Burtosky's work have the opportunity to live with art expressed in luminous color, calligraphic flows of energy and tranquill settings which result in unforgettable images. Her influences have been Vermeer, Fantin-LaTour, Dali, O'Keefe and the Mexican Muralists.
Commissioned paintings, graphiocs, church altar pieces, window designs, and calligraphic work are among her accomplishments, along with occasional prints and wall sculptures that are marketed nationally. Sister Veronica is a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Brutosky is listed in the International Dictionary of Art, Artists, Who's Who in the West, the American Catholic Catalog, the World Who's Who of Women, the International Contemporary Art Dictionary, Who's Who in Art, the California Art Review and Artists Artsembles and the National Dean's List for 1984. Sister Veronica is a published poet, article and short story writer. Marketing her work since 1968, she is the founding director of the International Registry for Religious Women Artists.
